VW Jetta TDI Clean Diesel Cup Driver David Richert to Join OurRaceCar.com as Contributing Blogger

Driver David Richert to share his experience as factory VW driver with visitors to OurRaceCar.com, a website dedicated to bring the excitement of owning and operating an automotive racing team with the average fan.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) May 22, 2009 -- www.OurRaceCar.com announces today that VW Jetta TDI Cup driver David Richert has signed on to provide a bi-weekly blog on OurRaceCar.com's website. OurRaceCar.com is a website which uses the power of collaboration to own and operate a racing team. By leveraging its member's membership fees the website will bring the thrill of owning and managing a racing team to the average fan. The website has been growing steadily since its launch and is tentatively planning to begin racing before the end of 2009.

David Richert is an experienced driver who started off racing Karts and through both pure talent and business savvy has earned his spot racing with VW in their Jetta TDI Clean Diesel Cup. The TDI Cup is a factory run series which is in its second year of operations. This is the second year of the competition, and Mr. Richert's second year of participating. While finishing mid-pack last year David did manage to win the coveted press competition by generating more press than any of his other competitors, and along with it a trip to Hockenheim Germany to compete in the VW Polo Cup. "Obviously Mr. Richert is a talented individual. He understands both sides of the industry: The driving side, and the business side. That's why we wanted him on board," says Jesse Jarjour, creator of OurRaceCar.com. "Personally, I'm really looking forward to reading Mr. Richert's blogs; in our few short conversations he has shown how knowledgeable he is, I'm sure his blog will grow quite a following," added Mr. Jarjour.

"I plan on taking readers along for a journey, showing them not only what it takes to get into the business but also how hard it really is," says Mr. Richert. "It seems the stereotype of drivers is that they are all jet-setters, living the high life. Nobody sees how much work it is, the hours upon hours of training, memorizing tracks, meet and greets, the list goes on and on. All the fans really see is the driving which really is just a small portion."

There is an interesting parallel between Mr. Jarjour and Mr. Richert, both are from small towns in Canada, and both are fighting their way into an industry that has notoriously high entry barriers. "Auto racing is not an easy sport to get into; most teams have been around for years, if not decades. The odds are stacked against both of us," says Mr. Jarjour. Adding, "If anybody can do it its David and I, we both have that drive to succeed. Nothing can stop us!"

OurRaceCar.com is slowly gaining popularity and believes that David Richert's blog will help attract people who would otherwise have not visited the site. "We are really trying to grow our business via word of mouth referrals, not from huge advertising campaigns," states Mr. Jarjour, ending by stating that "my goal is to have the site become its own entity, with all the major decisions being made by its members."
