New iPhone Application, InsultOMatic, is Sure to Hurt Some Feelings

The Insult-O-Matic is one of the newest apps available on Apple's iTunes app store which hurls insults at its user or anyone within ear distance. There are over 3,000 combinations of insults that can be selected or randomly played which, when strung together, an obnoxious voice says them out of the speakers.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 24, 2009 -- The Insult-O-Matic is one of the newest apps available on Apple's iTunes app store which hurls insults at its user or anyone within ear distance. There are over 3,000 combinations of insults that can be selected or randomly played which, when strung together, an obnoxious voice says them out of the speakers.

Co-creator Scott Knight, says, "It started with a silly idea between my brother-in-law Dean Abbott and I. We had both heard about the large sums of money that some developers have been making on the iTunes App Store, so we figured we might as well jump on the band wagon. One thing led to another and now we have our idea available on iTunes. We don't really expect to make any money, but hey, you never know."

This app may be considered in the same category as the famous iFart which has spawned many similar and seemingly useless - but very popular applications for the iPhone.

The Insult-O-Matic plays non-profane insults in a unique way. You select the adverb, the adjective, and the noun of the sentence from a pre-determined set of words. Once you have made your selection then they are strung together to form the full insult which is heard through your iPhone's speakers. They could also be played at any possible volume if plugged into a sound system.

"This way," according to Scott, "you could insult your friends and enemies from a distance while learning about proper sentence structure at the same time." The actual educational value of the InsultOMatic iPhone App is unclear. It does however provide this warning from the iTunes App Store: "Warning: "The Insult-O-Matic claims no responsibility for hurt feelings, lower lip quivering, lowered self-esteem, or any other weak and frail action that may result from this fun game. This is not intended for real or actual events. Do not use alone or with pansies."
