Multi-Platform On-Demand Television Provides Significant Opportunities for Media and Telecoms Companies, According to IBB Consultings Shahid Khan

Interactive Broadband Consulting Group, LLC (IBB), the premier consulting firm serving leading Broadband-related product and service providers in the cable, mobile, media, and technology industries, announced today that Shahid Khan, Partner, will moderate the panel titled Television 2.0: Cable, Telco, Satellite & Broadband Redefine the Future of Entertainment and Communications at the McGraw-Hill Media Summit in New York. IBB has successfully facilitated the launch of industry-first Broadband and Multi-Platform Television networks for the worlds leading media, entertainment and communications companies, and is at the forefront of tomorrows digital trends. Most recently, the company played an integral part in the launch of FEARnet, the first non-Linear Multi-Platform TV Network.

The Television 2.0 panel will focus on how the roles of satellite, On-Demand, cable, telco, and Broadband are shaping the future of entertainment and communications. With 250 million consumers to service domestically and a global market to target, the media, entertainment and technology companies are not competing in a zero sum marketing arena. This panel will take place at the McGraw Hill Building, Session B, 11am, on Wednesday, February 7th.

A new generation of young viewers is spending more time online than with TV and other media -- even when watching TV, audience is shifting to On-Demand, anywhere, customized content. Moreover, advertisers are beginning to favor niche avenues for reaching audiences. In parallel, Broadband and Mobile Video have moved into the mainstream. Furthermore, todays economics and risks of launching TV networks favor multi-platform On-Demand networks over traditional linear channels, said Khan. These shifts in trends are key factors in rapid growth of Multi-platform On-Demand channels over linear. The success of emerging networks such as FEARnet demonstrates that this trend is here to stay.
