"We are honored to be the first company to be included on this list for the last eight years," said Deb Weidenhamer, CEO of Auction Systems. "The auction industry continues to grow and as a result, our auction company continues to exceed our sales goals as well. Our continued growth is based on good systems and great people."

The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) is a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1994 by Harvard Business School Professor Michael E. Porter. ICIC's mission is to promote economic prosperity in America's inner cities through private sector engagement that leads to job, income and wealth creation for local residents.

The ICIC-BusinessWeek SmallBiz Inner City 100 list, created eleven years ago, has included 557 companies from 1999-2009. These companies have been responsible for creating 63,000 new jobs, of which inner city residents hold 34,500. It is the most aggressive project in America to uncover and celebrate inner-city entrepreneurship and business success.
