New York Copywriting Firm Helps Launch Mystery Product
New York based copywriting firm turns its hand to mystery writing, by working on a new product scheduled for release in September.

Capturing the essence of a product and presenting it within an incredibly focused scope is often difficult. Many advertisements make use of only a handful of words and/or a single image. The stakes rise when the product itself is a mystery.
This unique challenge is one that New York based freelance writing firm, Striking Prose, Inc. is currently tackling. Working in conjunction with a high-profile client, they have been asked to produce writing for the premiere of a new mystery product. Naturally, being unable to disclose specifics complicates the job.
"It's sort of a question of what you say when you can't say anything," says Powder Scofield, Co-President of Striking Prose. "You still have to convey a sense of what is coming without revealing too much. It's a balancing act, sometimes."
According to Scofield's business partner, Robert Berg, the challenge, however, is also part of the fun.
"We're in this business, because we love to write," he says. "A mystery product allows us the opportunity to stretch our creativity, to entice people to become intrigued by a great product, precisely because they're not quite sure what it is yet."
