Stanwood, Wash. (PRWEB) June 16, 2009 -- A new way of rescuing a downed SCBA user i.e.: firefighters, industrial workers, and military personnel is available for distibution. www.rescueridesystems.com. This new concept of rescuing will greatly reduce the effort of dragging a downed co-worker to safety.

The wheeled rescue device simply unfolds and clamps to the cylinder of the victims SCBA(self contained breathing apparatus). The injured worker can now be pulled out on wheels. The wheels reduce the friction of dragging and makes it easier for the rescuers; it speeds up the rescue itself. Now they can have this device folded and stored in their pocket as they enter the hazardous environment. Their air consumption from their SCBA is lessend because of the ease of pulling the victim.

Comments from the industry include: "It gives the rescuers a clear direction of travel" and "I can see us use far less air during the effort." Also, "When teams consist of differant sized people the worry of moving a larger partner is not an issue anymore."

http://www.rescueridesystems.com recently launched and this product is available for purchase. This is a patented design and was developed over a four year period by a firefighter after learning of LODD (line of duty deaths) from unsuccessful rescue efforts. Downed firefighters perish because of their distance into the hazardous environment and the difficulty dragging them out. The heat resistant material and folding disign makes this product practical and quite useful.
