Brenda Blisk Named to "Influential Women of Virginia"
Brenda Blisk, CEO and Founder of the Blisk Financial Group, was recognized on May 14, 2009, as one of Virginia Lawyer's Weekly's "Influential Women of Virginia." The awards were presented to 28 women who have made notable contributions to their chosen professions, their community and society at large.
McLean, VA (PRWEB) May 30, 2009 -- Brenda Blisk, CEO of the Blisk Financial Group at Spire Investment Partners in McLean, has been recognized as one of 28 women to receive the first "Influential Women of Virginia" award from Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The awards were presented on May 14 in Richmond, Virginia. According to Virginia Lawyers Weekly, "The awards recognize the outstanding efforts of women in all fields, including law, business, health care and education. The honors are given to individuals who are making notable contributions to their chosen professions, their communities and society at large."
Recently, Barron's Magazine named Blisk one of the "Top 1000 Financial Advisors" in the U.S. (#21 in Virginia). Barron's first annual ranking of the top 1000 advisors from across the country appeared in a special section of its February 9, 2009, edition. Listed by state, the advisors were chosen from more than 3,000 nominations. Selection was based on "both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, client satisfaction, regulatory record and philanthropic work," said the magazine in a news release announcing its special edition.
This new Barron's listing follows Blisk's recognition in 2007 and 2008 as one of Barron's Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in the U.S. In addition, Blisk has been recognized in both 2007 and 2008 by Virginia Business Magazine as one of the top 50 wealth advisors in Virginia and in 2009 as one of the top 25 wealth advisors in Virginia.
Blisk was also named one of the 2008 "Women Who Mean Business" by the Washington Business Journal. She was one of 25 women to receive this prestigious award in November 2008.
Washington Business Journal Publisher Alex Orfinger describes these awards as representing "leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, business savvy and just plain hard work."
In June 2007, Blisk received a Bravo Women Business Achievement Award sponsored by Washington Smart CEO magazine and TiE-DC, an organization dedicated to supporting the community of entrepreneurs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Blisk was one of 25 women honored.
Criteria for the Bravo Awards include overcoming business obstacles, financially outperforming competitors, displaying leadership and work ethic beyond the workplace and using a business base to benefit community fundraising.
