Make a Wish Foundation and Sweet Dream Theme Beds Grant Girls Wish of a Fairy Tale Princess Castle Bed
What do you get when you cross the Make a Wish Foundation and Sweet Dream Theme Beds? A royal bed fit for a princess of course! The two companies teamed up to grant the long time wish of a very deserving young lady and the results were magical.
Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) May 22, 2009 -- For courageous children such as Christa Hill, wishes granted by the Make a Wish Foundation are a bright spot in the otherwise harrowing journey that is terminal illness. Chemo treatments, doctor visits, medication and side effects such as nausea, hair loss, headaches and muscle pain are just some of the obstacles Christa dealt with in her personal battle against terminal illness. When the Hill's saw the princess castle bed on the Sweet Dream Children's Interiors Web site, Christa was enchanted. She knew that a castle bed would be just what she needed to finally get a good night's sleep; she knew she wanted this to be her "Wish" come true; Sweet Dream Theme Beds and Children's Interiors and Make a Wish were delighted to oblige.
Although, Make a Wish donated the bed, Sweet Dream was so moved by Christa's circumstances that they threw in some special extras on the house. Some of the touches they added were a beautiful, custom faux paint job and free delivery to North Carolina along with complete set up in her bedroom. The bed has all the bells and whistles, including a sliding board bed exit, a staircase bed entry, castle tower shelves, a comfortable full size bed in the bottom and another sleeping space above deck.
For the Hill family, the granting of their wish was a much appreciated and wonderful gift that helped bring some fun and laughter back into Christa's life. As Dessia aptly explained, "This bed is more than just a bed to us, it's a wish granted for a little girl that walked through the valley of the shadow of death. It is unfortunate and sad that my daughter had to go through this ordeal, but her new bed helps her forget some of the pain she went through and allows her to just be a kid again." The design of the Princess Castle Bed is such that it serves as a sleeping area, a play yard and a place to dream and relax. It is a dream bed fit for a wonderful, little princess.
Christa's Story: Christa Hill was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) a month after turning three. There were times that the side effects from chemotherapy would keep Christa from sleeping all night. For Dessia Hill, Christa's mom, it was frightening and heartbreaking to watch her daughter battle A.L.L. But battle she did. Christa finished chemotherapy on November 21st, 2008. This particular story has a high note because her chemo and tenacity were successful. Christa is now considered a "leukemia survivor." She is currently living life as a normal, healthy child for the first time since she was three years old.
