Small Business Seminar or "Divine Intervention?"

David Shepherd's remarkable "8 Steps" seminar for small business owners finally returns to Dallas on July 28 (The champagne has already been ordered!)

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 14, 2009 -- The nation's most unique and powerful 1-day seminar for small business owners is returning to Dallas for the first time in over six years. David Shepherd's "Your Business or Your Life: 8 Steps For Getting All You Want Out of BOTH" will be held on July 28 at the Dallas Marriott Quorum Hotel.

Author of the small business classic book of the same name, Shepherd has helped thousands of entrepreneurs over the past twenty years, but finds that his famous "8 Steps" are especially critical in today's economic uncertainty.

"I haven't really pushed the 8 Steps over the past few years," Shepherd said. "I was building a different small business event in Las Vegas, but I just kept getting e-mails from people telling me how the 8 Steps had changed their lives. Given the uncertain economy, I decided to give the 8 Steps a quick update and start touring again. Dallas is the first of 20 cities we're scheduling over the next 12 months."

The 8 Steps represent serious business practices. Some of the concepts are straight out of the nation's top business schools, Including the University of Texas at Austin where Shepherd has taught various small business courses for over twenty years.

But Shepherd's unique skill is to strip out the jargon, simplify things, and give business owners the confidence to know exactly what they need. (Often just the opposite of what their CPA or other advisor may tell them!) Yet the 8 Steps also adhere to the principle that small business owners cannot separate their business and personal goals. The 8 Steps are designed to help them accomplish both.

"It was an amazing experience," said Houston business owner Sarah Eilers about her first 8 Steps workshop. "I have three children, was managing a business, and I was exhausted," Eilers added. "The 8 Steps were a revelation. The program completely changed my life."

In addition to teaching essential business skills, 8 Steps seminars are entertaining--an ingredient that Shepherd has found is essential to learning. Seminars include music, exercises, and as a prelude to the success that Shepherd is certain will follow, a concluding champagne toast! "David commands the audience," Eilers added, while entrepreneur Bill Branson of Phoenix describes Shepherd as a combination of management guru Tom Peters, and motivational star, Tony Robbins.

Shepherd recognizes that running a small business is tough--perhaps the toughest job in the world, but also one that can be enormously fulfilling. He points to 8 Steps alumni Debbie Baxter of San Antonio as proof.

"It had been a struggle, and I was about ready to, well, get smaller," Baxter said. "Then I went to an 8 Steps seminar and it was like divine intervention. I realized I could have a business...and a life!" (See Baxter's and other video testimonials at http://www.8steps.biz.)

After the seminar, 8 Steps attendees will be encouraged to create "mastermind" groups to encourage full integration of the 8 Steps into their business models. A free membership at the newly launched Web site, www.8steps.biz, can help them to stay in touch and on track.

To provide maximum impact, the first 200 attendees to the Dallas seminar will also receive a Free Home Study Program consisting of six DVDs and a detailed workbook--a $595 retail value. Early bird registrants also receive a $60 savings if registered prior to June 28. An 8-page brochure is available for download at http://www.8steps.biz.
