Santa Fe, New Mexico (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 11, 2009 -- When Ms. McAllister, part-time resident of New York and Beverly Hills, recently decided to update her Beverly Hills bungalow, she contracted with Ralph Larranaga, III of Rahli Designs of Santa Fe.

She was looking for a firm that could provide not only interior design services but also custom furniture.
“I knew that in the process of updating the house that I would need some pieces which would complement my existing furnishings and art collection as well as giving my home a welcoming, comfortable ambiance,” said McAllister. “Ralph Larranaga has impeccable taste and an eye for details. He worked with me on fabric selections, interior wall colors, custom furniture design and the overall “look” of the house. I am thrilled with the end product,” she added.
Larranaga spent many hours with Ms. McAllister to ascertain her personal sense of style and her color preferences. Although the 1,500 square foot home was structurally sound, there was a need for some carpentry work in the laundry room and in the conversion of a small master bath to a luxurious master closet. Once that work was completed, the fun part of the project began. Larranaga enjoys pulling client’s antiques, art and accessories together while creating a vision in the overall design. In this case the design became more contemporary while blending in McAllister’s traditional furnishings.
The primary colors were pomegranate and amber. With sketch pad in hand, Larranaga then began the process of designing furniture. The firm ultimately produced two upholstered sofas, a side chair, a coffee table, a dining room table, two lamps, two nightstands and a dresser.
Additional custom pieces included a built-in bookshelf/entertainment unit, a pair of end tables and an upholstered swivel lounge chair for the library, a bookshelf, corner table and four side chairs for the family room dining area. One of the firm’s custom designed rugs is featured in McAllister’s den.
The master bedroom features a canopy bed with double sided bed drapes and double lined drapes which cover glass doors leading to the back yard pool and garden area. Approximately one hundred yards of Colefax and Fowler linen fabric were needed for the bed and window draperies alone. The master bath was updated with a new window treatment and re-upholstering a favorite chair.
“It was an amazing project and I will always be grateful to Ms. McAllister for the opportunity to work with Her, as well as the trust she placed in me throughout the eight months of the project. I am thrilled with the end result as it reflects a collaboration between designer and client which exceeded both of our expectations,” said Larranaga.
