13 Year Old CEO has Partnered with MBA Students to Make a Literary Difference "A.L.L. for Books"

ALL is on the EDGE of something really big! Adele Ann Taylor, Founder/CEO of Adele's Literacy Library™, and a group of business students from the Paul Merage School of Business at The University of California Irvine, have recently launched the ALL for Books webstore powered by Amazon to empower people to read.

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) May 7, 2009 -- ALL for Books WebStore is a uniquely designed Amazon WebStore created exclusively for Adele's Literacy Library™ ( A.L.L.), a non-profit organization founded by 13-year old Adele Ann Taylor, whose passion for reading led her to start this worthwhile organization. Adele's Literacy Library™ beleives that reading is not only fundamental, but it is the key ingredient to success and through reading ALL things are possible

Launched as a joint project between Founder/CEO, Adele Ann Taylor, and a group of business school students from The Paul Merage School of Business at The University of California Irvine, the ALL for Books WebStore delivers on its goal of empowering others to read. Shoppers to the online store can purchase books from various categories such as "Adele's Favorites", "The New York Times Best Sellers List", with the proceeds from the sales being donated directly to Adele's Literacy Library™ to help it grow its one simple premise….READ and be EMPOWERED. On the WebStore you will also find a Book Related section that offers booklights and the Kindle and "Adele's List of Books to Donate" category where you can have books shipped directly to Adele's Literacy Library™ who will put them in the hands of the organizations/groups that need them.

Taylor discusses her motivation for starting her socially-conscious organization, "I love to read and beleive that everyone should have the opportunity to be empowered by a book! When I read that 1-in-5 Americans only read on a 5th grade reading level, you can imagine how upset I was so I decided to start a business to help or empower people of ALL ages to read."

"We found out about Adele's amazing story when Amazon mentioned her in their blog," says Merage student team member, Karl Ring. "It seemed like a logical partnership for our project. The EDGE class and our whole program at Merage have a strong focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. We thought it would be great to collaborate with a young social entrepreneur on taking her non-profit business to the next level."

So what was Adele's response to being contacted by the Merage team? "I love to shop on Amazon!" exclaimed Taylor. "When I found out that the Merage School of Business team was involved with Amazon, I just couldn't let this opportunity get away!"

Since December 2008, Adele's Literacy Library™ has successfully given away hundreds of brand new books and bookmarks to schools, libraries and various organizations. Adele's goal is to give away millions of books to youth, elderly and disadvantaged individuals regardless of where they live. Ultimately Adele also wants to offer scholarships to high school graduates who want to pursue their educational dreams. The sociA.L.L.y conscious teen also hosts "Storytelling with Adele," visiting schools and reading to classrooms.

The idea behind the ALL for Books WebStore represents the collective efforts of six graduate students from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine. The students are enrolled in a unique and innovative course cA.L.L.ed EDGE, which seeks to explore how technology and Web 2.0 tools are reshaping and redefining traditional entrepreneurial models. To better facilitate the learning process, students from the class have teamed with Amazon.com to design and implement a fully functional, profit-generating Web 2.0 business within a 10-week academic quarter. Recognizing Adele's amazing entrepreneurial spirit, the six-member team of students chose to design its WebStore specificA.L.L.y as an engine to facilitate the growth of Adele's Literacy Library™. By exploring the use of novel digital tools to increase the public's awareness of Adele's charity, it is the hope of these six business students that the organization will continue to thrive and put books into the hands of ALL ages who need them most.
