Dadpreneur Attempts To Turn Bad Economy Into Successful Ebusiness, Launching Emodernbaby.Com

Lack of work, the real estate crash and never-ending bills motivate new dad to turn to ecommerce for next venture.

Marina del Rey, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2009 -- Post 9/11 became a difficult period for David Weinzimer to find work in his chosen field of Advertising. Jobs dried up and contacts soon followed. So he turned to the booming real estate market. He and his wife began flipping houses. But these were no ordinary quick flips. They fully remodeled, adding bedrooms and bathrooms, pouring their hearts into every house. They did this for almost six years. Then, the market turned. And turned hard. It left them with one house worth a hundred and fifty thousand less than its original value and forced them to take on a tenant and rent it for a $400 loss every month.

With no future in advertising or real estate, and a new baby due January 2009, David refused to go down without a fight. Rather than collecting unemployment, he wanted something that could reach millions of consumers and possibly survive and thrive during a depressed economy.

"People will always have children," David said, "and they will always be happy to spend money on them."

While expecting their first child, David and his wife began checking out baby clothes, furniture and gear. It seemed as if all the stores carried the same boring, traditional baby stuff. This wouldn't do. David and his wife are into modern and contemporary design and weren't into shopping at large baby department stores. They truly believed they weren't the only ones out there who thought babies and children deserved to be hip and cool, and felt that they shouldn't have to sacrifice style just because they're having a baby.

They found what they were looking for online, but none of the sites appealed to them. This sparked the idea for a new business. Since David and his wife both come from an advertising background, they believed an ecommerce site was a natural extension of their careers. They wanted their site to be well-designed, simple, easy to navigate and offer a great selection of unique and modern gear for babies and children.

And so, they announced the birth of their second baby - www.eModernBaby.com
A website dedicated to modern and eco-friendly furniture, art, décor and gear for babies and children.

"Being a Dadpreneur allows me to spend time with my daughter and see her smile whenever I want." David said, "It may sound weird to some, but I actually enjoy changing diapers between processing orders and phone calls."

www.eModernBaby.com sells modern, hip and cool stuff for babies and children. The site contains a large selection of the hippest and "greenest" furniture, beds, cribs, bedding, slings and diaper bags. While David handles the majority of the business, his wife helps out in between feedings.
