Summit Series Announces Aspen Summit '09

Early April Conference of the World's Top Young CEO's Will Focus on Economic Transformation and Philanthropy

Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 26, 2009 -- Summit Series announces the Summit Series Aspen '09 Retreat, a gathering of 115 top young CEOs and philanthropists worldwide. The Retreat will be held April 2-5, 2009 in Aspen, Colorado and is invitation-only.

The young leaders--an average age of 29 years--are part of Summit Series: a community of the world's most influential young entrepreneurs and innovators under the age of 35 that assemble in venues across North America.

Summit Series recently gained national attention for bringing thirty-five of America's top young executives to the White House to discuss the economy with senior officials from the Obama administration. Summit Series was founded by 23-year-old Elliott Bisnow less than one year ago, and provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to work together solving community, economic, and worldwide problems.

The Aspen '09 Retreat, sponsored by GQ magazine and the United Nations Foundation, among others, will focus on educating attendees on the power of contributing resources and idea capital to philanthropic organizations. Presenters at Aspen '09 will include Elizabeth Gore from Nothing But Nets, an organization that aims to protect children from Malaria through the distribution of mosquito nets; Lauren Bush from Feed Projects, an organization whose products such as its trademark "FEED Bag" will raise money to feed impoverished school children; Bobby Bailey from Invisible Children, an organization that works to address the challenge of child soldiers in Uganda; and Ethan Zohn from Grassroots Soccer, who took his $1M from winning Survivor to set up soccer leagues in Africa enabling children to get tested for HIV/AIDS.

A past Summit Series presenter, Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity: Water said, "The ability to present Charity: Water's mission to Summit Series' attendees was an invaluable opportunity. I was overwhelmed with the positive response and great follow-up opportunities. I was contacted by attendees looking to make cash donations to build wells in Africa, with advertising donations, and perhaps most importantly, idea capital."

"Summit Series strives to create an informal, collaborative environment for exchanging ideas, forging new business relationships, giving back to the community, and adopting progressive business concepts," said Elliott Bisnow, founder of Summit Series. "In this climate of growing economic challenges, we are proud that the Aspen '09 Retreat presents an opportunity to cast a positive light on philanthropy that advances the greater good."

Summit Series is invitation-only and open to entrepreneurs and philanthropists under the age of 35 that have demonstrated a marked positive effect on the planet. The full attendee list is released on the first day of each Summit. Past Summit Series events were held in Park City, UT and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

A selection of first time Summit Series attendees include: 31 year old, World Press Photo award winner Michael Appleton; 29 year old, Healthcare.com CEO, Matias De Tezanos who was recently named a 'Young Global Leader' by the World Economic Forum; 34 year old, Social Gaming Network (SGN) CEO, Shervin Pishevar; and 30 year old, Bear Naked Co-founder and CEO, Brendan Synnott who recently sold his company to Kellogg's.
