Telecomworx Launches Alternative Energy Solutions
Telecomworx a telecommunications interconnect services firm offering traditional and IP-PBX systems and network services since 1979, announced a new energy initiative.
Monrovia, MD (PRWEB) April 18, 2008 -- Telecomworx today announced that it has launched its Alternative Energy website, which will provide residential users and business customers an array of energy solutions to combat rising energy costs.
In 2001, Telecomworx developed an internal energy plan to reduce consumption and continues working their energy plan today. To date, Telecomworx has reduced energy consumption by 28% at their existing offices and in their previous location, they achieved a 35% reduction. The rewards have been more than mediocre and according to Matt Brunk, President of Telecomworx, "there is no one or any business unaffected by the enormous energy challenges ahead of us and our thinking has changed and continues to change in that we know we must use less energy to reverse negative environmental impact, reduce global warming and get off of foreign oil."
Telecomworx is offering business customers on-site energy assessments to review computing, telephony and network resources used and to determine customer electrical power factor performance. According to Brunk, "our published case studies are proven and shows customers that we can reduce their carbon footprint." Telecomworx is providing capacitor units that improves the power factor, reduces cost, and provides transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) to the entire panel. Other benefits include reduced motor wear, prolonged equipment life and heat reduction. Residential and commercial customers can realize energy savings anywhere from 5-25 percent.
Telecomworx is using enterprise class network equipment from ADTRAN of Huntsville, Alabama to converge on-site networking appliances that customers maintain in their businesses and whole panel capacitor TVSS units from Power-Save Energy Corporation based in San Luis Obispo, California. Telecomworx is also deploying equipment from Beamingsun of New Market, Maryland to provide the USB Ecostrip solution to reduce phantom (vampire) electrical loads. "We are working with businesses and consumers to fight phantom or vampire power loads which account for inefficiencies when electrical equipment and appliances are turned off and still plugged in, and continue drawing power," said Brunk. The USB Ecostrip does all the work for the user in reducing wasted electricity and is widely used in Europe. Brunk added, "the three key immediate services we can provide today are assessing power needs; developing and implementing a plan to reduce energy, wastes and costs; and then show customers how to converge many appliances into one and utilize hosted services that will reduce their carbon footprint."
