National Urban League Awards Celebrity Sports Agent Glenn Toby

The National Urban League recognizes celebrity sports agent for his long standing philanthropic work with the homeless at its annual conference.

New York (PRWEB) August 8, 2006 -- The National Urban League awarded Celebrity Sports Agent and Total Entertainment Athlete Management, CEO Glenn Toby with the Leadership Achievement Award at its 2006 NULITES Youth Leadership Awards luncheon during the Urban League’s annual conference in Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Toby, who also delivered the keynote address at the luncheon, was awarded in recognition of the national philanthropic work he continually does around the homeless and the issue of literacy empowerment through his organization, The Book Bank Foundation. Mr. Toby, who lived homeless as a child now manages the careers of over countless star NFL players and through the Book Bank Foundation has come to the aid of close to a million homeless families and youth over the past seven years. Today the BBF is the first philanthropic organization celebrities such as 50 Cent, Superbowl champ Asante Samuel of the New England Patriots and others come to when they want to directly help and communicate with the disenfranchised masses.

“Glenn Toby's business savvy and ability to manage careers is evident but it was his commitment to not having another person live through the trials and tribulations of being homeless that moved us," says NULITES director Renita Carter. “His conviction to helping young and old a like to read and to never give up inspired us to not only ask him to be our Luncheon Speaker for the 2006 NULITES Youth Leadership Awards Luncheon, but to present him with the Leadership Achievement Award. The award recognizes his work not as a business man but as a philanthropist,” Ms. Carter continued.

“My family introduced me to the Urban League at a very young age, say Glenn Toby. “I watched the results of work this organization all my life and for it to consider me an example of what a man should be is truly the pinnacle of any acknowledgment I have ever received,” exclaims Toby.
